CHURCH FAMILY

John & Gret Heuvelman:  Please keep John & Gret and her family in your prayers after recently receiving the news that Gret’s brother-in-law, Gerry Stryker, passed away late this past week.  We pray for the Lord’s comfort and peace to be companions to her family in this time.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

Office Hours are limited.  Please email or leave a voice mail and Sharon will get back with you.

Medical Equipment:  If you or a family member has need of medical equipment, please contact Deacon Ryan Boerman (1.616.437.7845).

Betty Kroll:  We give thanks to the Lord that Betty was able to come home after having invasive surgery to remove her cancer.  We pray for wisdom and direction as she will soon meet with her oncologist to determine her chemotherapy and radiation regimen.

Del Machiela:  Please be in prayer for Del as recent tests have revealed a return of his cancer in his prostate and in his bones.  He will soon begin a daily chemotherapy regimen.  We pray that these treatments would be effective and that he would not experience great side effects.

Helaine Miedema:  Please remember Helaine in your prayers as her total hip replacement surgery has been rescheduled for Tuesday, May 5, at Holland Hospital.  We pray the surgery goes well and provides her with the relief from pain that she so desperately desires.

Earl Mokma:  Please keep Earl in your prayers as he will be going in on Monday, May 4, for a heart catherization to help determine the causes of the symptoms he has been experiencing.  We pray that all goes well and that answers and direction are found.

Unemployed / Under Employed / Business Owners:  Please be in prayer for those who have recently been made unemployed, had hours cut, or are business owners unable to employ their staff.  We pray for families that are experiencing financial strain and anxieties about the future.  We pray that we, as a church, may come around them in such times, and that our situation may improve where many would be able to return to work soon.

Council Member of Focus:

Elder Gerry DeZwaan

May 10:  AM  Ascending Leaders

North Street Leadership:  Though we have not been able to meet regularly as a church family for worship, the leadership of our Church has been continuing to meet through ZOOM video meetings.  Our Council, Elders, Deacons, and Executive committees have continued to care for our Church.  Additionally, they have been making plans for when we can come together once again for corporate worship.  They have sought the guidance from state and local officials as well as been in consultation with other churches in our area.  When the decision is made to open up again, they will be sending a letter outlining the new precautions, protocols, and expectations to ensure that worship is safe.  Until then, we covet your prayers for wisdom and patience.

New Elder & Deacon Selection:  During the recording of the Worship Service for May 3, we will have the selection of new Elders and Deacons.  We thank the following persons who have allowed their names to be nominees for the following offices:

      Elder:      Allyn Arendsen  Martin Bostrom

                  Mark DuBois     Mike Geerlings

                  Ron Lucas

      Deacon:  Eric DeJong    Brent Leegwater

                  Mike VanAst   Josh VandenBosch

                  Zach VandenHeuvel

We have five Elder nominees of which three names will be drawn.  We also have five Deacon nominees of which three names will be drawn.  We ask for the Lord’s leading in this selection and ask for your prayers for these dear brothers in the Lord.  Installation of new office bearers is tentatively scheduled for June 7.
