FOCUS ON MISSIONS

Hispanic Ministry Developer - Pastor Scott Geurink continues to minister to Hispanics in the Western Michigan area with evangelistic Bible Studies in greenhouses and farms, mentoring and coaching Hispanic leaders and pastors, and assisting in the training of church planters.

Bonnie Bergman:  We are thankful for the encouraging report that Bonnie received at her last visit and pray that she would gain strength in her leg in the hopes that she might be able to stand, walk, and then be able to return home.  We pray for her & Ron while they remain separated because of the quarantine.

Terry Boerman:  We give thanks to the Lord that Terry was able to have another scan and chemotherapy treatment this past Wednesday.  The scan showed that his cancer is stable (not growing) and is being managed well by the treatments.  We give thanks for this report and pray that Terry continues to respond to these treatments with limited side effects.

Betty Kroll:  We are thankful that Betty was able to have surgery this past Wednesday to remove the cancerous spots and was given a good prognosis.  We pray for a good recovery, for wisdom & direction as decisions are made whether she will need chemotherapy.

Earl Mokma:  We give thanks to the Lord that Earl’s EKG and Stress Test went well this past Friday.  We pray that the results can help determine the cause of his drops in blood pressure and pulse.

Those unable to visit loved ones: Please remember those who have loved ones in care facilities and are unable to visit them, and haven’t been able to see them for six weeks.  This can be lonely and difficult for everyone.  We pray that the quarantine restrictions will be lifted soon so that loved ones can see each other.

Unemployed / Under Employed / Business Owners:  Please be in prayer for those who have recently been made unemployed, had hours cut, or are business owners unable to employ their staff.  We pray for families that are experiencing financial strain and anxieties about the future.  We pray that we, as a church, may come around them in such times, and that our situation may improve where many would be able to return to work soon.

April 26:  AM Mission India

May 3:    AM  ZCS – Christian Learning Center

Thank You:  A special thanks to you for your generosity as we were able to make financial donations to two local ministries – The Bridge and Harvest Stand Ministries – to aid in their efforts to provide food to hurting families in our community.  Through your kindness our community is being cared for and experiencing the love of Christ.

The Congregation is encouraged to continue with financial support of North Street and the various ministries that we support.  Weekly budget envelopes can be mailed to the church at 20 E. Main Avenue, ZeelandThe Deacons would like to encourage the congregation to continue supporting the causes/ministries that would have been receiving our offerings collected during our Worship Services.  We will provide a link where you can go and enter a donation for them online.  Some causes do not have a webpage.  Please contact your District Deacon with any questions.

Elders & Deacons Contacts:  The Elders and Deacons will be checking in on every family in our church each week not only to see how they are doing health wise, but also want to see if they need any assistance with picking up groceries or prescriptions, especially for those who are considered high-risk and immune compromised.  But we also want to check on folks to see how they are doing when it comes to potential benevolent issues.  We understand that many in this time are experiencing difficulties because of lay-offs and cut hours.  We want to ensure that we are doing all that we can to care for the church family in this time.  We also want to pray with you and for you, and so if you have any prayer concerns, please let us know.  Worship material, including on-line sermon and bulletin, will be available on our website each week.  If you would like a DVD or CD and bulletin sent to you, please contact our church office (772.6971) and we will mail them to you every Monday.
