The Worship Services are projected in ‘The Fireside Room’ and ‘The Grove’ for those unable to worship in the Sanctuary.

Song Packets are available at the entrances of the Sanctuary.  Please feel free to pick up a copy if you have difficulty seeing the projection screen.

Children’s Worship meets during the Evening Worship Service, for children ages 3 through Kindergarten.  Children’s Worship Dismissal takes place following the Offering/Offertory, exiting the Sanctuary through the front door.  Parents, please come to the Children’s Worship Room (Room #1) after the Service to pick up your children.





DeRoo Families:  Please continue to uphold the DeRoo, Leegwater, and VanderKooi families in your prayers after the recent and unexpected death of Berwin on Friday, December 20.  We pray for the Lord’s comfort and peace to be their companions in this time.


Tim & Ruth Meekhof:  Please continue to keep the Meekhof family in your prayers.  Ruth’s mom continues to be hospitalized following surgery for a burst brain aneurism.  We pray for her continued recovery and that there is not permanent brain damage.

Levi VanAst (son of Mike & Renae) is a Freshman at Calvin University.  He is taking classes in Anatomy, Physiology, Spanish, Nutrition, Strength & Conditioning.  His major is Kinesiology & Spanish.  This summer Levi is hoping to get a job in a hospital.  Levi is celebrating his 19th Birthday today, December 29!  Happy Birthday Levi!  We pray God will continue to bless you as you work to obtain your college degree.





The Church Office will be closed this week Tuesday, December 31.


GROW Groups will meet on January 5 with Jessica & Ovi Dumea, with Wycliffe Translators in Romania, sharing updates on this ministry.  On January 19, Rochell Prahl, Family LIFE Center, will be with us.


Women’s Bible Study will begin in January.  The Tuesday morning group will begin on January 7 at 9:30 and will go thru March 17.  The Sunday morning group (First & Third Sundays) will begin on January 5 at 10:55 and will go thru March 15.  We will be using the video based study by Lysa TerKeurst ‘Finding I Am’.  Sign up in the Narthex or contact Nakisha DeJong.


Ladies:  We are looking for women who enjoy making home-made cards.  Please contact Amanda Furniss (616.350.7857) if this is an area of interest to you!


Thank You to all who donated or purchased baked goods for Parkview Home.  Over $4,000.00 was raised during the month of December!

Reminder:  We will NOT be having an Old Year’s Service or a New Year’s Service this week.


The Executive Committee requests that our greetings to each other be verbal only to prevent the spread of illness this winter.  We will continue to have greeters verbally welcoming at the doors, and the Elders doing likewise at the exits following the services.  Please make an extra effort to be friendly to our guests during this time.


The Deacons are looking for Volunteer Drivers as transportation needs arise in the Congregation.  A sign-up sheet is at the ‘Sign-up Station’ in the Narthex.  Please consider signing up.


The Budget for 2020 passed at the December 9 Congregational Meeting.  The Weekly contribution per professing member is $45.00 for the General Fund, and $5.00 for the Building Fund.  The Council appreciates the continued support and generosity of the Congregation.





The Dordt University Chamber Orchestra from Sioux Center, Iowa, invites you to a concert at 7:30 PM on Monday, January 6, at South Christian High School.  This concert is part of a winter tour and features a wide variety of repertoire from the Baroque era to the 21st century.  The concert is free, with a freewill offering received to help defray tour expenses.
