Mitch Arendsen:  We give thanks to the Lord for the recent engagement of Mitch Arendsen to his fiancé Taryn Meiste.  We pray the Lord will bless Mitch & Taryn as they now prepare for the upcoming wedding day and marriage.


Chuck Johnson:  Please be in prayer for Chuck as he remains on Hospice care.  We pray for the Lord’s comfort and peace in this time for Chuck & Lynn.


Henry Meppelink:  We rejoice with Henry & Anna, that after having a stroke in his eye, Henry has experienced a 90% return of his vision in that eye.  We give thanks to the Lord for His mercy.


Vern VanKlompenberg:  Please keep Vern in your prayers as the wound on his leg has opened again.  We pray that his wound does not become infected and that a visit to the wound clinic will provide him with some relief.

Rev. Don Slager has been involved in Bible translation for his lifetime, mostly in the countries of Liberia and Sierra Leone (West Africa).  Presently he serves as a Bible translation consultant in Liberia. He also is the editor of Bible Handbooks for translators worldwide, doing this work under United Bible Society.





Alvin Blauwkamp:  We grieve the death of Alvin Blauwkamp who went to be with the Lord on Monday, October 4.  His funeral service was held this past Friday at North Street.  We are thankful that he was surrounded by loved ones as he took his last breath.  We pray for the Lord’s comfort to be with his wife Arlene and the family in their time of grief.


Brent & Val Leegwater would like to invite our Church Family to celebrate and worship with us for the Wedding of our daughter Briana to Nick Unema.  Their wedding will take place at North Street on Saturday, October 16, at 4:00 PM.


A Grocery Shower is taking place for Briana Leegwater & Nick Unema who are planning an October 16 Wedding.  Please place your gifts in the Grocery cart in the Narthex by Sunday, October 17.





North Street Seniors will have their monthly breakfast at the Southside Inn (192 W. 35th Street, Holland, just east of Washington Avenue).  It will be this week Thursday, October 14, at 8:30 AM.  Sign up in the Narthex if you plan on coming.  Enjoy breakfast and a time of fellowship that morning!


The Outreach Committee is collecting Christmas Shoeboxes for boys and girls around the globe through the Samaritans Purse Operation Christmas Child program.  Shoeboxes can be picked up in the Narthex.  The goal for North Street is 100 boxes!  Shoeboxes must be turned in, at church, by Sunday, November 14.  For gift suggestions and more information, see Dana Staat, or visit

October is Pastor Appreciation Month.  The Congregation is encouraged to show their appreciation for Pastor Shaun & Amanda, and their family as they serve the Lord by serving us.  Cards, notes, and words of appreciation are encouraged at all times, but especially during this month.





The Bridge Youth Center has a number of volunteer opportunities available.  They are in need of people to provide food for the students they serveMeal suggestions and other ideas for volunteering are located at the Sign-up Station in the Narthex.  You can also learn more at or call 772.3843.


The Zeeland Civic Chorus will begin practice on Sunday, October 10, from 2:15 to 5:45 PM at First Protestant Reformed Church of Holland for ‘Handel’s Messiah’.  Come praise God in song!
